What Similar Contacts does

Similar Contacts helps you identify individuals who could be similar to an existing contact based on:

  • Seniority

  • Responsibilities

  • Specialization

  • Team / function

This is especially useful when you've identified a champion (or a blocker) and want to quickly surface other stakeholders who may matter to the deal.

When to use it

Use Similar Contacts when you want to:

  • Expand your stakeholder map beyond a single thread.

  • Find "adjacent" roles that often influence the decision.

  • Identify alternates in case your current champion goes dark.

  • Validate whether you're engaging at the right level of seniority.

Find similar contacts

  1. Navigate to an account map and click into a contact of interest — ideally someone with an existing connection or strategic importance.

  2. Click into the contact to open their details.

  3. Click Find Similar Contacts.

  4. Click Continue to enable similar contact lookup. This is a monthly opt-in required for LinkedIn compliance; you'll get a Slack notification when it completes (if enabled).

  5. Similar contacts begin appearing in the left sidebar under Suggested Contacts — this can take up to a few minutes.

  6. Review the results. Centralize matches on team, specialization, skills, responsibility, function, and seniority, and shows a confidence score (green/yellow/red) for each match.

How it works

Similar Contacts works by scanning the contact's LinkedIn profile to understand key signals like seniority, responsibilities, specialization, and team. Centralize then uses those signals to surface other relevant people.

Tips for getting good results

  • Start with a contact who clearly represents the role you want more of (e.g., "VP Finance" vs. a generalist title).

  • Try it for both a champion and a blocker to uncover additional supporters and sources of resistance.

  • Treat Similar Contacts as a shortlist — confirm fit by reviewing title, team, and recent activity before outreach.

FAQ

Does Similar Contacts only work within one account? Yes — you can search for Similar Contacts within a specific account. You can also request similar contacts across multiple accounts.

What should I do after I find a similar contact? Review their role, confirm relevance, and then reach out or loop them into your existing account plan.

Why were no similar contacts surfaced? Similar Contacts relies on information available on the contact's LinkedIn profile. If the profile is missing details (for example, role descriptions, specialization, team, or other descriptors), Centralize may not be able to identify enough key signals to find and surface similar contacts.
