Update a Contact's Email Address
Last updated: September 13, 2026
Keep your contact records accurate by updating primary email addresses directly in Centralize. When you change an email, the domain is automatically mapped so your account intelligence stays in sync.
Before you start
You must have edit access to the contact you want to update.
The contact should already exist in your Account Map.
Update a contact's email address
Select a contact card from the Account Map.
In the contact sidebar, click the pencil icon next to the primary email address to edit it — or, if the contact doesn't have an email yet, click Add Email instead.
Enter the correct email address. The domain will be mapped automatically.
Click Save to finalize your changes.
Note: An email has to be set as primary before it can be edited. If a contact has no email on file, use Add Email rather than the pencil icon.

Tip: "Centralize automatically maps the email domain to the correct account — no need to manually update the company association" after modifying the address.
Contacts with the same name
If an account has two contacts with the same name — for example, two people both named "Brad Jones" at the same company — double-check you're editing the right profile before saving. Use each contact's title or LinkedIn URL to confirm you have the correct one; both are shown on the contact card. If you're not sure which profile is which, or you run into an issue correcting the email yourself, contact support@usecentralize.com and the team can help verify and fix it for you.
