Account Research: Using Centralize to Prep for Calls
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Before you join a call, Centralize pulls together everything your team knows about an account — stakeholder history, open threads, warm paths in, and even a call-specific strategy — so you can walk in prepared instead of piecing it together across five different tools.

Build the account picture before you dial in
Start every prep session from the account itself, since that's where Centralize consolidates the account's email, calendar, call-recording, and CRM activity into one view.
Open the account from Accounts in the left sidebar, or search for it directly.
Turn on Account Overview if it isn't already active.
Turn on AI Next Best Actions, especially for at-risk accounts, since it scans calls and emails to flag contacts you might be missing or action items you agreed to but haven't followed up on yet.
Review the opportunity data on the account page, which syncs in automatically once your CRM is connected and shows risk status and expansion or renewal stage without opening Salesforce separately.
Note: Next Best Actions run in the background — if none are showing yet for an account, Centralize is still generating them, so check back in a few minutes.
Get oriented fast with Ask Centra and the Research tab
Centralize gives you two different AI surfaces for getting up to speed on an account, and it's worth knowing which is which before a call. The Research tab holds a standard set of pre-built questions that appear on every account, so the questions are consistent across your whole book. Ask Centra is an account-scoped chat — closer to asking Claude or ChatGPT a question, but scoped to only that one account's data — and its chat history persists, so you can pick a conversation back up the next time you prep for the same account. Ask Centra's answers cite their sources, so you can click through to see which call or email an insight came from before you repeat it on a call.
For prompt examples and a full walkthrough of what to ask Ask Centra and the Research tab, see "Working with Centra AI: Ask Centra & Call Strategy Prompts."
Review the Stakeholder Map for who's in the room
Once you have the account-level picture, check the Stakeholder Map to understand where each contact stands before the call.
Open the Stakeholder Map for the account, which auto-populates with first-degree LinkedIn connections, anyone on an open opportunity, and anyone with an inbound or outbound touchpoint.
Read the color coding on each contact: gray means no touchpoints at all, blue means you've reached out but they haven't engaged back, and green, yellow, or red means they have engaged, colored by how recent that engagement was.
Click into a contact's card to check their sentiment tag, any buying role assigned to them, and their reporting line.
Check the warm connections on contacts you haven't met — Centralize scores these by relationship strength rather than just connected-or-not, so you can see who on your team has the strongest path in before you ask for an introduction.
Note: Buying roles are generally tied to a specific open opportunity, so a contact usually won't show one if there's no open opportunity on the account yet.
Check the AI-generated Call Strategy for your call
Beyond the account-level research, Centralize also generates a Call Strategy — a call-specific brief built from the same account data plus your company's context. For a meeting on your calendar, open Call Prep for that meeting. For a call with no meeting scheduled, like an outbound dial, open the contact and click Generate call prep.
Each brief includes:
Where We Are: where the relationship and deal stand today
Why This Call: why the call likely matters right now
Pain Hypothesis: the problem Centralize thinks the account is trying to solve
Risks & Blockers: risks and obstacles flagged from recent activity
Discovery Questions: suggested questions to ask
Key people: who's likely to be involved
Warm Paths: warm connections to people you don't already know
Who We've Talked To: contacts your team has already engaged
Where We Fit: where your product fits for the account, based on your company's context
You can hide or reorder any of these sections in Settings → You → Call prep.
For more on how to work with Call Strategy output and get better results from it, see "Working with Centra AI: Ask Centra & Call Strategy Prompts."
Troubleshooting: when your research comes back empty
If a contact or account shows no data, or you're not getting suggested contacts, check these in order before assuming something's broken.
Check the account's email domain in Account Settings and confirm it matches the domain you actually use to email your contacts.
Check the LinkedIn company page mapped to the account, since a similarly-named but different company will break both warm connections and suggested contacts.
Confirm your inbox and calendar are actually connected, not just started.
Give it a few minutes to sync after fixing any of the above.
Note: For accounts with a parent/child structure, most teams map at the parent level and let opportunity data roll up underneath. Align this with however your CRM structures the hierarchy so the two systems don't disagree.
